Sebastian Cole, the President of the World Athletics delivered the administrative password to the Tony Okowa led Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
The Secretary of the AFN; Niyi Beyioku pledged to always treat by the rules of AFN and Nigeria as a country to make sure that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria meets the needed standards of the World Athletics.
After releasing the administrative password, World Athletics President; Sebastian Coe and the AFN President, Tony Okowa took a photograph in acknowledgment of Tony Okowa’s board by the World Athletics Federation.
It will be recalled that the Shehu Ibrahim Gusau last month said he had been locked out of the official e-mail of the federation by World Athletics.
In a letter addressed via WhatsApp to all World Athletics member federations, Gusau accused both World Athletics and the Confederation of African Athletics of working with the Nigerian government to undermine his power as president of AFN.
‘’Since then our Federation has been locked out of our official mailbox (firstname.lastname@example.org). We have sent several emails and made several calls to WA IT Ticket to resolve the problem, thinking it was a technical issue,” he mentioned then.
Meanwhile, the AFN has received with great shock, the press release by the Athletics Integrity Unit, suspending Blessing Okagbare for a doping test violation.
“The Federation is in the proceeding of obtaining the important details of the announcement after which a full reaction will be issued,” Okowa expressed in a statement.
