Ramon Azeez Excited About La Liga Return

Nigerian midfielder, Ramon Azeez, has expressed delight at the return of the Spanish La Liga and is looking forwarding to playing competitive football again. Azeez who plies his trade with Spanish top-flight side, Granada, is expected to be in action today, Friday, June 12, 2020, when his side confronts Getafe, another club which has a Nigerian, Oghenekaro Etebo, in their ranks.
The outbreak of the corona virus pandemic meant that the Spanish league was suspended in mid-march, but with the situation under control, the league recommenced yesterday, June 11, 2020, becoming the second European top-flight league to resume after the German Bundesliga. Placed ninth on the league log with 38 points from 27 games, Granada will be looking forward to the services of the Nigerian and his teammates when they play host to Getafe on Friday evening (18:30 WAT).

A consistent performer for the Diego Martínez led side, a series of impressive performances from the former Golden Eaglets star saw him earn a recall to the national team after five years, he was also part of the list released by coach Gernot Rohr for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone which was postponed due to the pandemic.

With 21 appearances across all competitions for the Nuevo Los Carmenes outfit this term, Azeez who has spent most of his career time in Spain since joining Almeria in 2011, will be aiming to help Granada secure a place in European football next season.
