Six people have been assassinated by bandits who attacked Kanawa and Runka villages of Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Daily Trust mentioned that a resident of Kanawa village said the bandits launched the attack on Saturday evening, June 5, and dispersed the villagers.
The eyewitness also said that the bandits who were on about 60 motorcycles, visited around 6:30 pm carting away some domestic animals belonging to some brides in the villages.
He said;
“When we heard the roar of their motorcycles, we all dispersed into the bush but they chased some of us and gunned down six and injured others.
“As I speak with you now (Sunday morning), we have just concluded the burial of the six persons killed; three sustained serious injuries.
“One is taking medication in Katsina and the others at Danmusa hospital.”
Katsina state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the attack and also said it was a reprisal by one Mani Doro whose boy was murdered by the Kanawa residents.
It took place days after the police repelled a bandits’ attack on Wurma and Yarbudu villages of Kurfi Local Government Area during which five of the attackers were speciously killed.
